Torres de Hércules is an emblematic building which has become an iconic symbol in Algeciras city. It is not only the highest building of Andalusia by the time of its opening –126 meters–, but is also among the biggest constructions in Southern Spain.
Torres de Hércules Business Center building was integrated to Grupo Nyesa in March 2019 with 92 offices, two commercial premises and 144 parking places.
The project of this modern business center, located in Parque Empresarial y Tecnológico Las Marismas del Río Palmones, in Los Barrios municipality (Gibraltar), came to light thanks to the contribution of 40 millions Euro. Nowadays, its value is still notably high.
The most slender building in Southern Andalusia houses a wide variety of offices and restaurant services. One of the companies located in Torres de Hercules’ facilities is the Danish shipping company Maersk, one of the most influential companies in the shipping sector worldwide, which has significantly increased the value and potential of the building. Furthermore, its location close to Gibraltar port, makes the towers even more attractive and relevant.
Designed by the awarded Cordovan architect, Rafael de La-Hoz Castanys (also creator of emblematic buildings such as Gran Via 48 Madrid or Campus Repsol) started the creation in year 2007 to be concluded in October 2009. The big visual impact generated with the addition of two huge twin cylinders significantly changed Bahía de Algeciras skyline. Today it is one of the most representative figures of Andalusian community.
Sustainability and energetic savings are two great keys along all the business complex. The towers are inspired by the Pillars of Hercules Each one has a 25 m diameter. The two 20 storey towers are linked together by a glass hall way that open up space and balance the light.
Its outstanding outdoor has a 100 meters lattice also made of concrete, with text Non Plus Ultra: an inscription symbolizing Columnas de Hércules legend, that could also be seen in the Spanish shield, and that reflects the power of the building. It provides an original image, involving the whole building, enhancing the natural protection against the excessive sunlight of glass enclosure and giving unique panoramic views over Algeciras Bay, the Rock of Gibraltar and La Serranía.
